PERFUME PACKAGING BRIEF

we were asked to pick a celebrity and pick an artist or illustrator to influence our packaging designs. i chose alexa chung, an idol of mine and an illustrator called emma rios who has worked with boodles jewellery company. construction was an issue as im quite pants at time management & preplanning anything so i had to print the main body and the lid/bottom on different sheets of card and fit them together afterwards. definitely could have been neater, but im quite chuffed with my overall design.

PHOTOSHOP BRIEF

for our cad design sessions, we were asked to produce a scene which used all the skills we have learnt in photoshop over the past term.

being an epsom girl, i wanted to use the epsom derby as my starting point. i then chose typical ladies day outfits and put horses heads onto the bodies. i'm really not sure if i like my final product, but it took so much work and many an hour to produce. but i guess we've all got to learn from our mistakes...

TREND BRIEF

i thought you guys might be interested in what i've been doing at uni at the moment...

i was given the word "solid" and was told to come up with a trend board which would represent that word in a fashion environment. we were to suggest examples of our expression of the word which a fashion designer could then interpret into a design for a collection.

it has been very, very cold and icy in preston at the moment so i took my slr out and snapped the morning frost. i then thought i could use this frost and manipulate it into a ice queen; lion, the witch and the wardrobe style.

next project i think we're doing perfume packaging.... no idea how that even comes into fashion promotion?? but it sounds like a challenge!

hello everyone, sorry i'm such a failure! i've been really concentrating on my university work recently.

STYLING PROJECT

it was a brief set by the british heart foundation to find a new campaign for them. you can find more details on their website. i chose to use my base my project on the famous song by the beach boys, "god only knows". my goooorrrrgeous boyfriend jake modelled for me :) and my lovely flatmate, emma.

but anyway, we had to use a blog instead of a sketch book so after continuous blogging for two weeks i can safely say, i really bloody miss it! so guess who's back!!! ive found lots of beautiful and exciting things to blog about so keep yo' eyes peeled! and of course, xmas is on the way!! even more exciting things to come!!

im off to london next week, with uni. we've just started a trend project so we've got to snap loads of inspiring pictures for our montage boards. i'll post them if they're good too haha.

a MASSIVE apology to give!

i am sooooo sorry everybody!! these past three and a half weeks have been too mental for words. two weeks worth of freshers events... settling in, sorting out room and general objects for kitchen, and well pretty much being drunk constantly! BUT, i actually have had two WHOLE seconds to sit down and write to all of you lovely people! that's if you haven't abandoned meee!

anyways, as i promised here are the pictures from my lovely new room!

what can i fill you guys in on?? i had my first hand-in today!! we were placed into pairs and told to promote our partner with a product which best describes them. i was so pleased with mine and my tutors seemed to really like it too! i created a new barbie which described my partner sam. all the accessories were her favouritest things in the whole world. it was so fun to make haha.

i've also applied to be course rep, so that should be fun! we start our styling project tomorrow and apparently its an amazing brief, so i literally can't wait to start it! i seriously love it so much up here! i've made so many amazing new friends and everyone's so nice. plus, drinks are soooo cheap!! i'm off to assembly tonight where drinks are 75 PENCE!! and then to preston rocks, which is preston's indie night, where drinks are a pound. god damn, it's amazing up here!!!

fresher's was amazing. highlights included super sunday, where we dressed up like superheros. me and my flat mates went as teenage mutant ninja turtles, and i was nominated as best dressed! :D didn't win, some guy with a colander on his head did :/ & a hundred pounds worth of alcohol :'( booo hooo!

damnn good night! this post is quite boring and i have so many more to catch up on. i've bought sooooo much since the last post!! so i shall leave this one here and start the next fashiony one!

i'm in whitendale halls (WR) and i'm based in the victoria building (VB) for fashion promotion and styling, so i can literaaaally roll out of bed, and roll across the car park into uni. it's going to be sweeeeeeeet!! i'm so excited now! bring on september!!!!!!!!!!!!
